Updating Your Dial-Up Settings: Windows NT 4.0
- Look up a new access number here on our website, then disconnect from the Internet.
- From your desktop, double-click on My Computer, then double-click on Dial Up Networking.

- You should see your SpeedGate connection (you may have given it a different name, like "Internet Connection"). Select it from the drop-down list, then click on the More button and choose Edit entry and modem properties...

- Replace the old phone number with the new number you looked up. (The number in the example is in Laguna Beach - unless you live there, you will probably want a more local number.)

- Click on the Security tab and verify that "Accept any authentication..." is selected.
Click on OK to save your settings.

- When asked if you want to make the phone number permanent, select Yes.

- Before you click on Connect, make sure your user name ends in "@speed.net" (i.e. bob@speed.net, not just bob). Also, make sure that the Domain is blank.

- Click on OK to connect to the Internet and save your changes. If you click on Cancel, your changes will not be saved.
- If necessary, update the settings on your e-mail program.
You are now ready to connect using your new settings!
