Updating Your Dial-Up Settings: Windows 95 or Windows 98
- Look up a new access number here on our website, then disconnect from the Internet.
- From your desktop, double-click on My Computer.

- Double-click on Dial Up Networking. You should see your SpeedGate connection (you may have given it a different name, like "Internet Connection"). Select it, then click on it with the right mouse button and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.

- Replace the old phone number with the new number you looked up. (The number in the example is in Laguna Beach - unless you live there, you will probably want a more local number.) Click on OK to save the settings.

- Double-click on the dial-up connection.

- Before you click on Connect, make sure your user name ends in "@speed.net" (i.e. bob@speed.net, not just bob).

- Click on Connect to connect to the Internet and save your changes. If you click on Cancel, your changes will not be saved.
- If necessary, update the settings on your e-mail program.
You are now ready to connect using your new settings!
