Updating Your Dial-Up Settings: Macintosh
These directions use the control panels in MacOS 8.0. If you have MacOS 8.5 or later,
the PPP control panel has been replaced with the Remote Access control panel. The process is similar.
- Look up a new access number here on our website, then disconnect from the Internet.
- Go to the Apple menu, find Control Panels, then PPP (if you have MacOS 8.0 or earlier) or Remote Access (if you have MacOS 8.5 or later).
If you are changing your user name, be sure it ends in "@speed.net" (i.e. bob@speed.net, not just bob). Then replace the old phone number with the new number you looked up.

- Close the PPP (or Remote Access) Control Panel. When asked if you want to save your changes, click "Save."

- Update the settings on your e-mail program.
You are now ready to connect using your new settings!
