Updating Your Dial-Up Settings: Macintosh (Apple Internet Dialer)
These directions use the Apple Internet Dialer. If you use a different dial-up package, the steps will not be identical, but they will be similar.
- Look up a new access number here on our website, then disconnect from the Internet.
- Open the Apple Internet Dialer. If you do not know where it is, you can use Sherlock to search for files with "dialer" in their names.

- Go to the Provider menu and select Modify current provider... Click on Next.

- On the Account Information card, make sure your user name ends in "@speed.net" (i.e. bob@speed.net, not just bob). Replace the old phone number with the new number you looked up. Click on Next.

- On the Server Information card, if you have anything listed for the SMTP Server or POP Server, they should show the SMTP Server as dialup-smtp.speed.net and the POP Server as dialup-pop.speed.net. Click on Save to save your changes.

- If you changed email settings, but your email program does not use the Apple Internet Dialer's settings for servers, update the settings on your e-mail program.
You are now ready to connect using your new settings!
